Up to $5000 available through Ontario program

Note: registration for the Natural Resources Canada ecoENERGY Program was closed effective March 31, 2010 but the Ministry of Energy continues to accept registration for the Ontario Home Energy Savings Program. Both programs end in March 2011 so there is still time to complete projects, such as adding insulation, to improve the energy efficiency of your home.

Review the process, and read the FAQ section, or call ThermalMaxx Insulation at 519-659-8861 for details.

It's wise to get more than one quote on your home insulation. We promise fair pricing, without sacrificing quality, to ensure that (a) your home insulation meets or exceeds standards and (b) that you get the most from your grant!

Fight the rising cost of heating and cooling your home! Research shows:

  • 78% of homeowners have not added any insulation to their attic - they believe their home already has enough.

  • 80% of homes built before 1980 would benefit from upgrading attic insulation to R50.

  • 71% of homebuyers would choose a home that reduces their overall impact on the environment.

  • 96% of home buyers consider energy efficiency when buying a new home.

London Hydro considers investing in new air conditioning technology

July 8, 2009. The new Ice Bear air conditioner at the Mountain Equipment Co-Op store in Burlington, Ontario uses the equivalent of five or six light bulbs (about 300 watts) during peak hours. A traditional system uses 6,000 watts.

During off-peak hours the Ice Bear's compressor cools refrigerant which, cools the air blowing into the building. Overnight, the water that has melted off the 200 kilogram cubes of ice contained in the unit is re-frozen. In daytime the compressor shuts off and the Ice Bear uses the ice to cool the refrigerant.

London Hydro is “very seriously” considering investing in the technology, said its Conservation Program Manager, Hans Schreff.
